I wasn’t really looking, and yet, five years ago, an email promoting an unusual workshop found its way to me and piqued my interest. The event was in another state and more money than I had at the time.
However, the new workshop idea sparked my curiosity and I reached out to another relative. “There’s an interesting workshop in another state. What do you think about you and I attending?” Before I knew it, four of us were flying to a new city to attend a happening that sounded different and also interesting.
As a result of this workshop, I became friends with like-minded individuals. And my life took an unplanned and fascinating turn. All because I took a risk and attended an unusual seminar not directly related to work. New techniques and different approaches to common issues were presented and I grasped them whole heartedly.
