What’s going to happen tomorrow?
It doesn’t matter.
Why?
It hasn’t happened yet.
Will worrying about it change anything?
No?
Then don’t worry about it.
Constantly thinking about the past, and/or worrying about the future, can stop you from enjoying the good things happening in your life right now.
I’m a breast cancer survivor, and I learned this lesson when going through treatment for this horrible disease. I couldn’t control the fact that I got cancer, but I sure could control how I got through it.
Here’s a reality check.
You’re here today.
This moment. Right now.
BE in this moment.
Right now, as you’re reading this, you’re fully present with me, surrounded by a calm sense of peace.
Soak that in for a moment.
Live in this moment. Pay attention to that. Feel the air around you. Feel the chair underneath you as you read. Fee gratitude that you are here. Gratitude for what you have, not what you want in the future.
Yes, it’s good advice for people suffering from an illness, but it’s also good advice for people who aren’t.
Live in the moment. Right now. Live minute to minute if you have to.
Tomorrow hasn’t happened yet. The past is over and done.
So, take a deep breath as you read these words.
A BIG deep breath.
In fact, do it three (3) times in a row.
Now feel the peace that arrives after that last breath.
You and I are here. Today. We’re sharing a moment.
Now take that peace into your next moment. The next thing you are going to do after reading this.
You got this my friend.
