Are you celebrating your golden years?

Or, maybe you’re not even close to that period of your life.

Today’s culture doesn’t seem to honor age as it has in the past centuries. The term golden years, evokes images of leisure and retirement. But today’s society believes us to be out of touch or rusty.

Saying wisdom years instead of golden years, captures the profound value of this life stage. These years are not merely a time of rest, but a culmination of decades of experience, insight, and resilience. This age group possesses a wealth of knowledge, often gained and through challenges and triumphs and Life lessons that we have learned which can guide younger generations.

By calling them the Wisdom years, we shift our focus from age to contribution. This emphasizes their role as mentors and story tellers. The reframing celebrates the richness of their lives and acknowledges the enduring impact of their wisdom on families and communities.

Please think about this the next time you encounter an elder, and instead of looking over them or not even acknowledging the individual, remember that they are a wealth of information and love that can and should be shared.
